(ZENIT News / Vatican City, 07.05.2024).- On Sunday morning, May 5, a Catholic priest of Czech nationality, was arrested by the Vatican City Police, carrying a weapon in hand luggage.
The priest’s arrest was verified around 9:00 am on Sunday. He was trying to enter Saint Peter’s Square, but the Police arrested him after searching his backpack and finding a BB gun, a cutter and a screwdriver.
Although the priest explained that it was a self-defence weapon for personal use, the agents arrested him and confiscated the weapon. The priest also said that the objects in the case weren’t his.
