As mentioned yesterday, it was either September 11th or  12th that commemorates the Battle of Vienna, the great victory in 1683 of the Christians armies, led by Polish general Jan Sobieski, against the Ottoman Turks, determined to conquer the Austrian city, the gateway to the rest of Europe.
